Asheville Video Art Festival takes place July 1-Aug. 6:

MUX: (multiplexing) the sending of multiple streams or data signals over one single, complex transmission. From July 1st – August 6th, 2016, MUX: Asheville Video Art Festival exhibits novel use of languages and systems of communication through video.

Our exhibition structure is derived from the functionality of ‘multiplexing’ and operates as such: it allows for multiple data streams expressed through the video format to deliver varied signals simultaneously, uniting within a single physical space. In compositing these videos into a single grouping, new meaning is developed through the contextualization of the whole. Rather than cu- rating work according to a through line of specific content or subject matter, the show has been curated with a consideration of the languages of information and systems of connection. Languag- es and systems of information and connection common to art methodologies may be conceptual and aesthetic structures, choreography, composition, linguistics, memetics, montage, narrative, semantics, video essays, and so onIt has been noticed all around the globe that there are no such ads for the medicine that the order cheap levitra has. MUX offers a stereoscopic approach to curating new media that establishes perspectival depth through the formation of a body of work. Representing artists who explore, create, and challenge systems, modes of representation, and ideologies through the use of creative audio / video / per- formative language, MUX’s structurally conscious network subsumes geographic distances in ex- change for a temporal omnipresence.

MUX: Asheville Video Art Festival was created by video artists, art theorists, curators, & educators seeking to expand the field for new media and video art, easing the imbalance between artists and exhibition platforms.
